About the Role:

This Role has overall responsibility for Corporate Tax affairs across Asia Pacific. It is a key contributor to many departmental goals and objectives and manage multiple projects including M&A and complex transactions, some of the key responsibilities are as follows:

  • Ensure the Company is in compliance with Federal, State and International tax laws.
  • Review global income tax provisions for multiple entities and jurisdictions and deferred tax asset/liability calculations in accordance with ASC 740.
  • Conduct tax research and plan to minimize tax burden, while considering various business scenarios, working on projects to maintain and reduce the Company's effective tax rate and taxes paid
  • Be involved in the international tax planning process including business expansion activities and transfer pricing strategies.
  • Establish a strong cross-functional relationships with other functions to communicate, execute, and secure various initiatives to maximize cash for the Company.
  • Manage or key contributor on all tax planning, structuring and compliance related to acquisitions in the region. Execute due diligence reviews
  • Be the tax lead for legal entity rationalization within the region
  • Manage tax audit and enquires from tax authorities in the region
  • Advise management of the impact of new tax laws and proposed legislation
  • Liaise with cross functional and business leaders on tax impacts to BU’s or departments.

Responsibilities

  1. Coordinating / review income tax provision processes (ASC 740) through the delivery and sign off - 20%
  2. Managing regional income tax compliance (returns, tax payments, other filings)  - 20%
  3. Income tax audit defense - 20%
  4. Cash tax forecasting - 10%
  5. Supporting/managing M&A, special projects and strategic initiatives - 15%
  6. Tax advisory within the region - 15%

Qualifications

Minimum Education Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or economics; advanced tax degree desired.

Minimum Experience Required:

  • 10+ years of corporate tax experience with solid knowledge on mainland China taxation.

Special Skills Required:

  • Solid technical background and strong working knowledge of ASC 740
  • Effective leader, strong communicator, hardworking and able to interact with management and various teams on a daily/regular basis
  • Focused, dependable, and able to have manage multiple tasks at the same time
  • Strong leadership, analytical, written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in a team under pressure to meet deadlines
  • CPA certified desired.
  • Big4 experience desired.
