About role:

The experienced Waste Sourcing Manager will actively focus on sourcing end-of-life Polycarbonate (PC) waste in China to feed into Trinseo’s recycling initiatives in Asia. The manager will use his/her existing network for sourcing and unlock new competitive waste sources for Trinseo’s recycling plant. Frequent travel, dynamic engagement, and strategic relationship building are key components of this impactful role enabling circularity of Polycarbonate.

 

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, secure, and manage new sources of Polycarbonate (PC) waste in the Shanghai region and beyond. - 40%
  • Proactively identify, secure, and manage new sources of Polycarbonate (PC) waste in the Shanghai region and beyond. - 20%
  • Regular travel within the region to establish new contacts, maintain relationships, and understand local market dynamics. - 20%
  • Collaborate with internal recycling operations teams to ensure alignment between waste sourcing strategies and plant capacities. - 10%
  • Represent Trinseo’s circular economy goals externally, enhancing the company's sustainability image. - 10%

Qualifications

Minimum Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering. 

Minimum Experience:

  • 5 years in recycling business

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

  • Large network in recycling industry
  • Dynamic personality with strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
  • Innovative, creative thinker capable of addressing challenges and finding novel sourcing solutions.
  • Excel skills

  • Ability to adapt quickly and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, proactive approach with a high degree of initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Mandarin Chinese and English.
  • Enthusiasm for frequent regional travel and external engagement.
