Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement medium & long-term sales strategy, as well as short-term sales tactics for Polymer Solutions (ABS) and Engineered Solutions (Compounding) sales for Automotive in APAC
  • Responsibility for meeting annual volume and margin targets
  • Develop new business in alignment with the business strategy. In particular, develop APAC Automotive sales to Chinese/Asian Auto OEMs, diversifying from current sales to mostly European Auto OEMs
  • Manage, steer and coach the sales teams in APAC
  • Support sales force in major contract negotiations with key accounts
  • Establish and maintain key customers and distributors relationships at senior level, as wells as with other external auto industry stakeholders
  • Define and implement sales strategy & tactics: steering, coaching, price guidance of sales teams, customer meetings, participating at relevant trade fairs etc.
  • Internal reporting, participation in and preparation of internal business meetings
  • Interact with internal functions: Product Mgmt., Marketing, Supply Chain, Demand planning, TS&D/R&D, Finance management to discuss/define actions to realize targets to maximize the financial performance and meet/exceed the targets set
  • Own commercial excellence & commercial market intelligence agendas. Run sales development projects and initiatives in collaboration with marketing and product management
  • Lead and participate in sales projects
  • Sales forecasting and admin processes (e.g. price & sales adjustments approvals, SOX)

 

Qualifications

  • University degree in business, engineering, chemistry, process technology.
  • 10 years’ experience in sales, marketing, product management or general management roles in B2B environment, out of which 5+ years in Plastics/Chemical/Process industry
  • Proven track record of successfully conducting significant business >$50MM
  • Good Business Acumen & financial skills
  • Very good people mgmt. and leadership skills. Team player
  • Relevant work experience and good understanding of the Auto market
  • Ability to balance long-term value add, while being able to meet also short-term volume, margin and WC goals
  • Ability to work in a volatile, fast changing and challenging business environment
  • Common sense, responsibility and accountability
  • Understand the fundamentals of our manufacturing operations
  • Ability to manage decision makers at various organizational levels in a multicultural environment
  • Multilingual, being fluent (verbal & written) in Chinese and English
