The Recycling Technology Expert is responsible for leading and advancing recycling technology initiatives as well as overseeing within the EM & PS Technology department. This role involves developing innovative recycling processes, and ensuring the successful implementation of recycling technology projects. This role will play a key role in driving sustainability efforts and enhancing the company's recycling.

 

Responsibilities

  • Has an in-depth understanding of the technology and can define gaps to improve performance in all type of operational aspects (run-plant + process safety).
  • Area Business technology focal point
  • No incidents & accidents
  • Managing all aspects of business specific technology
  • Managing conflicting priorities
  • Managing technology aspect for license and external TSO

 

Essential Functions 

 

  • Keep up to date with local legislation on recycling. 
  • Assess recycling technologies for different polymers.
  • Visit recycling conferences, recycling companies, customers etc.
  • Participate and lead various project teams for recycling initiatives.
  • Coordinating technology efforts for the construction of a chemical recycling plant including permits, engineering, construction and startup. Support the project team on all Recycling Technology related activities.
  • Cooperate with R&D, Raw material purchasing and TS&D for investigating and implementing possible recycling technologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering is required, Mechanical and Chemical Engineering is preferred.
  • 5 years Manufacturing or Engineering experience preferred.
  • General knowledge of EH&S.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Mobile and able to travel approximately up to 20% of the time.

 

  • Self-motivated, capable decision-maker that is able to effectively influence others
  • Effectively seeks feedback to improve work processes
  • Ability to prepare strong technical reports and proposals
  • Concisely explains complex technical issues to all varieties of audience and leaves a clear understanding of message key points
  • Effectively manages expectations
  • Must be able to work on a significant number of projects simultaneously and projects are expected to technically sound when completed
  • Ability to promote technical networking, sharing of experiences and best practices to reduce duplication of efforts and to leverage the global process team’s knowledge
