Responsibilities

Own Application Development for Strategic OEM Accounts

Lead the development of new applications at assigned Asia OEMs, focusing on growth areas such as EV battery casings, lighting, and sustainable interior components. Drive technical validation and specification of PMMA and PC/ABS solutions from concept through SOP.     30%

 

Manage and Convert the Technical Opportunity Pipeline

Build, maintain, and convert a robust pipeline of application opportunities. Track technical progress, drive internal alignment, and ensure accurate reporting via SFDC. Take ownership of opportunity progression and support commercial conversion in coordination with Sales.            25%

 

Act as Technical Business Partner to Drive OEM Growth

Support the regional business development strategy by identifying unmet OEM needs, positioning new products, and influencing material selection early in the development cycle. Actively contribute to account strategies with insights from platform-level engagements.   20%

 

Interface with R&D and Product Management to Guide Innovation

Translate customer requirements into clear technical feedback and collaborate with internal teams on material development, performance enhancements, and go-to-market support for next-gen applications.           15%

 

Promote Sustainable Solutions and Circular Materials

Lead technical conversations on low-carbon, recycled-content, and circular materials. Position our sustainable offerings as enablers of OEM ESG goals and regulatory compliance.       10%

 

Qualifications

Minimum Education Required:

Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering.

Minimum Experience (years and type):

At least 10 years’ experience in the automotive industry and/or plastics industry in a comparable role. Working experience in Auto OEM is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong technical knowledge of thermoplastics (PMMA, PC/ABS, composite) and their processing in automotive applications, including injection molding, compression molding, part design, and tool validation.
  • Fluent language skills in English.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a diverse international team.
  • Customer-facing application development expertise, with demonstrated ability to support molding trials, technical seminars, and translate customer needs into material solutions.
  • Good business development and negotiation skills. Commercial acumen and opportunity management skills, including experience building and managing a technical pipeline and contributing to account growth strategies.
  • Ability to interface effectively across functions (R&D, Product Management, Sales, Regulatory) to align internal priorities with external application requirements.
  • Knowledge of Chinese and some global OEM vehicle platforms and technology roadmaps, with the ability to anticipate future application needs and sustainability drivers.
